This is a paid, part-time position for an experienced individual, at a young and growing company.

Applicant would be working under the direct guidance of the head technician at the outset with a transition towards more self-sufficiency once familiar with the shop’s standards and protocols.

At present, the schedule may be flexible 2-3 days a week to start. There is opportunity for further hours and advancement for the right candidate. Compensation rate will be based on the applicants experience level.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Guitar setup and repair work fitting with the applicant’s abilities. (Experience in skills such as electronics, fretwork, nut/saddle making, etc. are an advantage, but not essential. Additional training will be provided)
  • Assistance with shop tasks such as: customer service, shipping and receiving, general cleaning, managing social media posts and online marketplace listings, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • Luthierie school or other prior experience with fretted instrument setup/repair.
  • Familiarity in working with hand and power tools
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to monitor multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Must be available to work Saturday’s

Guitar Repair Long Island is looking to partner with a qualified Electronics Technician to offer services such as amplifier, effect pedal, and other electronic repairs, to our large client base.

As an independent contractor, candidate would make themselves available for regularly scheduled pickup and drop off at our convenient location, while operating from the comfort of your own shop. Set your own hours.
